Charlotte County Batteries Plus store catches fire, crews on scene

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Fire crews are battling a fire at a Batteries Plus store in Charlotte County.

Charlotte County fire officials confirmed the fire Tuesday and said crews are actively working to extinguish it.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said drivers should expect traffic congestion on northbound and southbound U.S. 41 near Cochran Boulevard because of the structure fire and FPL replacing a pole nearby.

Deputies urged drivers traveling through the area to use caution and expect delays.

Officials have not released information about possible injuries, the extent of the damage or what caused the fire.
