Airport Donuts brings fresh, handcrafted treats to Naples with a twist

NAPLES, Fla. (WINK) - If you’re looking for a fresh donut in Naples, Airport Donuts has plenty of options to choose from.

Located on Airport-Pulling Road, the local shop serves handcrafted donuts, pastries, coffee and other breakfast favorites.

The menu includes classic glazed donuts along with more creative flavors like Boston cream, cookies and cream, maple bacon crunch, peanut butter and jelly-filled donuts. There are also weekly special donuts like 'Dubai Chocolate.'

Cake donut fans can choose from flavors including blueberry, cinnamon sugar, vanilla, coconut and glazed cake. The shop also makes apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, croissants and its bite-sized Airport Bites.

Owner Ralph Cioffi said what sets the shop apart is not just the variety of flavors, but how the donuts are made.

“Our donuts are different because they’re a healthier alternative. We fry our donuts in beef tallow,” Cioffi said. “Frying donuts in beef tallow creates a lighter, crispier crust because the dough absorbs significantly less fat than it would with standard vegetable oils.”

Cioffi said he wanted to offer customers another option by using organic ingredients and making the donuts fresh in-house.

“It’s great for people who are health-conscious or if you just want a good donut,” Cioffi said. “ I wanted to make a product I would eat and I would feed to my family. I didn't want to contribute to the fast food craze, I wanted to stand out."

Airport Donuts also offers pickup and delivery, making it an option for breakfast at home, office meetings or special events.

The shop has a local feel, giving Naples residents and visitors a place to grab a freshly made pastry and coffee.
