Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann granted early end to probation after 2024 DUI case

A Collier County judge granted Naples Mayor Teresa Heitmann an early end to her probation Tuesday morning stemming from her DUI arrest in August 2024. Following her 2024 arrest, Heitmann pleaded no contest to the DUI charge in February 2026 and was placed on probation; she had to follow several court-ordered conditions, including drug testing. However, court documents said cannabinoids were found in one of those drug tests. Heitmann denied using marijuana, and her defense team said its own independent testing showed no signs of cannabinoids, but a judge determined she violated her probation. Her probation was extended through May 16, 2027, but according to a new court filing, Heitmann said she had since completed the required conditions, that nothing remained outstanding, and that all financial obligations and assessments had been paid. Gulf Coast News tried to speak to the mayor as she left the courthouse, but she had no comment.
