A new warrant was issued for a Lehigh Acres man after deputies said he violated the terms of his probation following an arrest for stabbing his boyfriend. According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Demario Scimio, 33, got into a dispute with his boyfriend over money issues. The victim said he attempted to defuse the situation by going to another room alone, while Scimio drank a 16-pack of beer. When the victim tried to leave the home, Scimio pushed him, then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the back, Crime Stoppers said. Scimio was arrested and spent the night in jail before later being found guilty on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and being placed on probation, according to Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers said Scimio violated his probation last week. Scimio is a repeat offender with four previous arrests, including one for DUI. He is 5'8", weighs 160 pounds, and, once arrested, will be held without bond in the Lee County Jail. If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
